Germany had a big day in the men´s competition with four out of the six first men to cross the finishline. Fastest of the lot where Jan Frodeno a minute ahead of last years winner, Sebastian Kienle. In the women´s competition Daniela Ryf was in a league of her own beating Heather Wurtele in second place with more than eleven minutes.

Jan Frodeno, who made his Ironman debut at Kona, last year, with a fantastic race that could have gone all the way if it weren´t for a few mishaps that cost him extra minutes, won today at Zell am Zee in front of the reigning IM world champion and IM 70:3 world champion Sebastian Kienle. Javier Gomez from Spain took third place.
